ELECTRODE PASTE
Electrode paste is used for forming continuous self-baking electrodes (Soderberg electrodes) in electrical thermal furnaces in ferrous, non-ferrous metallurgy and chemical industry.

The above values are average values and they do not constitute a specification
At the consumer’s request the coefficient of flowability can be set within a range from 1.6 to 2.8 with accuracy of ± 0.2, for example Cf=1.8±0.2
The size and shape of electrode paste briquettes depend on the shape of molds:
– small briquettes (SBEP):
No. | Average dimensions, mm | Average weight, kg | ||
1 | ~105 | ~90 | ~70 | ~0.7 |
2 | ~75 | ~80 | ~60 | ~0.32 |
– – large cylindrical blocks (LBEP):
No. | Designation | Diameter, mm |
Height, mm |
Average weight, kg |
1 | LBEP dia. 500х850 | dia. 500±20 | 850+50 | ~270 |
2 | LBEP dia. 600х910 | dia. 600±20 | 910+50 | ~430 |
3 | LBEP dia. 900х1000 | dia. 900±30 | 1000+50 | ~1010 |
Geometrical dimensions and weight of SBEP and LBEP blocks (including positioning of two pairs of non-through (blind) holes for gripping blocks with load-lifting mechanisms) depend on the equipment and are not regarded as rejection values. The hollows after shrinkage of the paste during LBEP cooling are not regulated.
